Reena Shrivastava born in a musical family naturally imbibed the art of music as she began sitar as early five years old, under the tutilege of her father and Guru Pt. Rabi Chakraborty himself an eminent sarodia of the Maihar Gharana. Her natural talent and existensive training together with careful nurturing has developed Reena into one of the finest sitarists of her generation.

Her performances earned her rave reviews not only in India but also abroad. Her extensive tour all over India and abroad has earned her fame and recognition in Europe, U.S.A. and Canada as well as in India.

Reena has performed in almost all major festivals in India and abroad starting from the Dover Lane Music Conference to the Chester and Bath festival in U.K. – to name a few. Performances aside Reena also has a number of releases to her name in the form of CDs and cassettes where she has performed as a duet companion to her brother Rajeeb.

This time Reena has teamed up with her son Pratik, who is regarded as a child prodigy, just as Reena was in her childhood. Following the footsteps of his grandfather and uncle, Pratik plays sarod and has shown great promise wherever he has performed.

Kousic Sen, also regarded as a child prodigy, was initiated in Tabla playing by Professor Biswanath Bose of the Benares Gharana and later became a disciple of the Tabla wizard Pandit Kumar Bose. Kousic is an accomplished soloist and accompanist, and has performed with many luminaries of Indian dance and music as well as world music.
