Karnatic & North Indian Jugalbandi - featuring Dr Jyotsna Srikanth (Karnatic violin) and Dr Vijay Rajput (North Indian vocal) with Sanju Sahai on tabla and R N Prakash on mridangam.
Part of Wolverhampton India Project.
Dr Jyotsna Srikanth is a well versed karnatic violinist. She comes from a family of musicians. She started learning vocal music from her mother Smt Rathna Srikantiah and later continued her studies in Karnatic violin under Sangeetha Vidyasagara Sri R R Keshavamurthy. She has given performances in many prestigious venues in different parts of the world including India and UK.
Dr Vijay Rajput, a disciple of the illustrious North Indian vocalist Pandit Bhimsen Joshi is a UK based singer. He is a young talent of considerable potential. He has performed in various venues in India and UK over the past few years. He is currently based in Newcastle Upon Tyne and is the artistic director of Gurukul, an academy for teaching Indian classical music.
