Santoor is an exquisite 100 stringed instrument, which has been made famous by the folk music of the Himalayan valley of Kashmir.
Kiranpal Singh is recognized as a leading disciple of Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, and as the principal Santoor player in Europe.
He has performed internationally, and is admired for his mastery of the advanced techniques of the instrument, combined with a creative flair and spontaneous imagination. He performs regularly in collaboration with musicians from other musical styles.
Tabla played by none other than Sukhwinder Singh Namdhari, who has had tutelage of Pt Kishan Maharaj in the style of "Banaras Baaj".
Sukhwinder Singh has had several successful concerts with leading artists, such as Pandit Ravi Shankar, Late Ustad Vilayat Khan, Dr L Subramanuim (Violin), Ustad Amjad Ali Khan (Sarod), Pt. Hari Prasad Ji (Flute), Ustad Imrat Khan (Sitar), Ustad Fateh Ali Khan (Vocal), Pt. Ram Narayan (Sarangi) and Pt. Jas Raj Ji (Vocal). Ustad Sahid Parvez (Sitar). Sukhwinder Singh has toured extensively across USA and India and has won a Grammy Award In 1994, with Ry Cooder for the Composition "A Meeting by the River".
